A one day workshop consists of five sessions covering leadership topics that are selected to match the level and experience of the participants. Ten specific Hard Lessons are shared throughout the day. Each participant receives a workbook that includes all the material covered during the day and has room for notes and personal action items. Movie clips are used to illustrate “leadership-in-action” and promote discussion.
Schedule options that are also effective are an evening/morning workshop, or two half-day workshops on consecutive days.
A two day retreat consists of six sessions covering leadership topics that are selected to match the level and experience of the participants. Ten specific Hard Lessons are shared throughout the two days. Each participant receives a workbook that includes all the material covered during the day and has room for notes and personal action items. Movie clips are used to illustrate “leadership-in-action” and promote discussion.
The primary advantages of the retreat format are:
#1 There is more time for group discussion, break-out sessions, development of action items, and team building exercises;
#2 The retreat environment reduces distractions and interruptions and is more conducive to honest and open evaluation of the individual, group, and organization-wide leadership culture;
#3 There is time for more topics to be included.
A one and one-half day retreat (starting late afternoon and running through the next day) is an effective alternative to two full days.
